There comes a time when social media isn’t sufficient. I’ve been on twitter for close to decade now, typing all sorts of nonsense, and while it continues to be a lot of fun I’ve reached the point where I wanted my own space for longer form writing and media. And thus it came to pass that, like so many before me, I would create a blog.
I’ve been interested in transportation since I was just a little kid helping my father work on the old cars he always seemed to own. That gave me the knack, and in time I would eventually work in aerospace and earn my doctorate in engineering. I’ve also owned my share of ratty old cars, the occasional nice new car, motorcycles, bikes, and even skateboards. So yeah, I’m a nerd that way.
But I’m also other things. I’ve had a long term interest in art and design which manifests itself in things like almost going to architecture school, buying mid-century furniture I can’t really afford, and caring about things like color and pattern.
Other parts of me? Politics, history, social justice, and environmentalism.
